Leadership Education and Advocacy Development

LEAD is an after-school, chapter-based civic training program for High School students. We work to engage educators at High Schools in Washington DC to identify student leaders that are social justice warriors looking to raise their voices. Students are exposed to our civic engagement curriculum where they learn problem-solving and critical thinking skills. These strategies are then applied through relevant field engagement experiences, including community organizing and providing testimony at city council hearings. By engaging students in this way, we are able to build confidence in our cities future leaders and prepare them to become knowledgable change agents for educational outcomes affecting their peers.
